Our Story

When I came up with the idea for IgotMUG'd, it was intended to be a lighthearted endeavour; a creative outlet to send thoughtful gifts to those closest to us. With messages ranging from Inspiring to Heartfelt and even Hilarious, each MUG carried a unique sentiment meant to bring joy to it's recipient.

In the midst of the all the cheerful creations, however, I found myself grappling with a loss that has just so happened to change the course of our business.

A couple of years into this venture, tragedy struck when one of my best friends took his own life. Despite knowing he was facing some challenges, the severity of his pain remained hidden behind a facade of normalcy. I know it's too late, but I often find myself reflecting on the signs I missed and the actions I could have taken to offer him the support he desperately needed. His passing shook me and left me with a sense of grief and regret.

In the wake of this I wanted to do something special in my personal life to honour his friendship, and we decided the best way to achieve this would be a profound transformation of what our business is about.

What once started as a simple gesture of goodwill now carries a deeper purpose; one rooted in the importance of checking in on the people we care about the most.

Inspired by the many fun memories all of our friends made with him, and fuelled by the desire to honour his legacy, we've made it our mission to spread awareness of mental health and the importance of reaching out to those we care about.

For me, a large part of this business serves as a tribute to my friend, Kirt. A reminder to cherish every moment, to prioritize human connection, and to never underestimate the power of checking in on one another.

As we continue this journey, we're committed to working toward a world where no one feels alone in times of need.
